GTC Race Lausitzring
1411
From June 2 to 4, 2023, the second stage of the German Gran Turismo Cup (GTC) took place at the Lausitzring. This is a multi-class championship, where several different classes of cars participate at the same time. The weekend consists of three main races: a 60-minute GT60 and two 30-minute sprint races.
This year, Ukrainian pilot Ivan Peklin is participating in the GTC in the GT4 class together with the Seyffarth Motorsport team. For Ivan, this sports weekend was the first acquaintance with the German Lausitzring track, but this did not prevent the Ukrainian from successfully performing in his class and being the fastest Audi R8 GT4 pilot throughout the weekend.
In his qualifying for the second sprint, Pecklin finished fifth in GT4. Thanks to this, at the start of the second race, the Ukrainian pilot was able to confidently overtake his opponent and fight for the podium in the future.
Ivan confidently defended the third place in the GT4 class for almost the entire race, but on the last lap, the Ukrainian driver made a mistake that, unfortunately, cost him the podium. Because of this, Ivan finished in fourth place, which is also a pretty strong performance.
Despite the fact that the fourth place is not the result that Ivan was hoping for, the Ukrainian driver has taken into account his mistakes and is already preparing for the next stage, which will take place at the Nürgbrugring from June 30 to July 2.
